PVC pyramids

ACCESSORIES aren't necessarily for a prupose or function, I think they are quite the opposite, which is why I have no regrets in making this suitably un-functionable bumbag cover. An idea I created as part of my FMP coursework. Getting straight to the point, it's completely useless but it looks pretty cool, any thoughts?

FMP

TODAY I shot the garments I have made for my FMP (Final Major Project) with a little help from my friend Carly. As my theme for this project is based around the idea of camping (hence the woodland scenary). I created an extremely structured, 3-dimensional raincoat, made from clear PVC material and black ridgeline. This garment has been inspired by tent shapes and structures. The underneath creation being a denim playsuit was based on the idea of sleeping bags being all-in-one designs and denim being a favourite with festival goers. I designed the front of this dungaree'esque garment to be lower than the back (under the bust), therefore I styled this with one of my white vintage blouses. I'm really proud of what I have created and will be looking forward to seeing it on the catwalk at our end of year fashion show. Hope you enjoy looking through these photographs!

Styled with a white vintage blouse, UO bumbag, Hunter wellies, flower headband and Carlys own jewellery.

Samantha Casolari

COLLEZIONI Accessorie collection, Spring/Summer 2011 shot by Italian-born Samantha Casolari. The photographer moved to Brooklyn in 2003 and, after finishing her MA degree, has lived and worked there as a self-taught, full time photographer. I found these images when looking at her website, they immediately caught my eye. The colours, hazeyness and serene body language of the shoot are extremely inspiring. Beautiful imagery.

Bal-shirt

A limited edition S/S 11 t-shirt collection created by Martyn Bal, one of modern menswear’s well-kept secrets. The former Versace designer's "work is inescapably influenced by contemporary art, music and gender theories, and his most recent project is no different. Literature provided inspiration this time, in the guise of William Blake’s poem ‘Tiger, Tiger’, which gave the t-shirt collection Bal created for S/S11 its title, ‘Burning Bright’." I would wear these tee's, the colours are perfect for this time of year. I also have to praise the photography in this shoot, an excellent location, screaming that 'in the middle of nowhere' bliss we all crave. Thanks to dazeddigital

Liebman 'secrets'

A collection of images taken by photographer Jeremy Liebman. In the following series he has shot natural and unpretentious images, as seen in his pictures as part of the 'Secrets' show at Space 1520. His work creating subtle waves of nostalgia. I’m in ore of the first photograph in this set, a simple observation to the naked eye, but somehow it's extraordinarily captivating. His portrayal of all things are dealt in a striking yet comfortable manor. No wonder he has shot for the likes of Nylon, Intersection and Prada in the past.

its a mans world

AN androgony styled photoshoot entitled 'Its a mans world'. Styled by Liam Williams. We created this editorial for the first edition of BEE magazine, a magazine collaboration with our college class! So far I've had a really great reaction to these photographs, just can't wait to see what everyone else thinks! If anyone is around Liverpool tomorrow, we're having our magazine launch party at the Barcelona Bar in the city centre, feel free to pop in and check it out! Also, big thanks to Maggie Matic for modelling in this shoot.

seaside delight

FIRST of all, apologies for not blogging in a while! I've been soo busy and it wont let me upload photo's on my iPhone. Seriously, what is a post without any pictures?! On a nicer note, these are images I took using my disposable camera whilst spending the day with my family in Blackpool. Was such a lovely day and I think my photographs have turned out really well, although I did forget to use my flash on the last 2, OOPSSSS! Anywho, hope you enjoy looking at them!
