Thanks grandad..

CAME home from Huddersfield last night and found this waiting for me. My grandad has kindly passed on his old Polaroid Land camera to me. The film this camera takes is 87/88 type, a particular emulsion which is no longer available. Although replacement films are still available in the forms of 664, 672, 667, 690-colour and 669-colour. Will definitely be getting my hands on some, can't let this go to waste!

Photographs taken with my iPhone 4.

PLAY IT LOUD

LOVE this tack.. Marco Corola - Play it Loud (original)

Enjoy!

buying vintage..

BUYING vintage is always a pleasure. I bought the following pieces from my favourite boutique, Raiders Vintage in Liverpool on Wednesday. Very summer appropriate, colour/material wise etc.. Images taken on my iPhone 4 using Instagram. Will be wearing the leggings straight away but I'm hoping to keep the 2 tops for suitcase.. Can I resist wearing them before I go away?

SBTRKT

JUST purchased tickets for SBTRKT's live set at Mint Warehouse in Leeds. So looking forward to this.. Of course I'll be there with one of my cameras in tow, so I'll be sure to post pictures after the gig.
Below is an image of the poster for this event.

Kodak Brownie 127 // Model 2

NEW addition to my growing camera collection.. This is a Kodak 'Brownie' 127, model 2, introduced in 1959! A simple bakelite camera for 127 film which features a simple meniscus lens and a curved film plane to compensate for the deficiencies of the lens. So looking forward to using this, and now the film has arrived I can't wait to start shooting with it! (apologies for the crap photos, my SLR has been playing up)
I'll be sure to upload the developments from this film, I'll keep you posted!

STREET STYLE / Menswear

New term, new design project, new brief. This time we have been issued with a menswear project, something I am really looking forward to. To inspire us we decided to go cool hunting (taking photos of some of the better dressed guys in Huddersfield). Here are some of my initial shots, more photos to come. All photographs taken at The Citp and Dais Boutique in the Byram Arcade, Hudds.

I'd like to make Cool Hunting a regular feature on my blog so I will keep you posted..

Antoni & Alison // LFW

The design duo that is Antoni Burakowski and Alison Roberts, today, returned to London Fashion Week after leaving in 2005! The simplicity played out through the wispy shifts, enabling the eye to be drawn to the sequin, brocade, paper bag and fringe collage creations that adorned them.
From me, personally, the garments needed second-glancing as some of the shapes/textures deceive the eye. A truly inspiring collection.

WHP

SO excited to have my ticket for this coming WHP in Manchester!

3RD Floor Art Party // FISHEYE perspective

PHOTOGRAPHS taken with an Olympus E450 at the 3rd Floor Art Party at Byram Arcade, Huddersfield. A collaboration between 3 of Huddersfield's very own art collectives; Any Which Way, Rag N Bone Collective and Fresh Kids!
A rather long blog post. Even these images don't justify the success, hardship and creativeness of this event.
With a 40ft x 10ft art wall (to draw whatever you please on), DIY themed art projects, Zine machining, Visual Performance VJing software (projecting live visuals onto a 15ft x 15ft canvas sheet) and a live performance from The Shadow Orchestra (STEMS)  a musical collective, synthesising eastern and western music.. What more could we have asked for?
A truly great afternoon, so glad I decided to go.
